Position Description
The Researcher and Course Developer Assistant provide advanced theological research, writing, and curriculum development for Dr. Frank Turek’s Bible studies and Product Development. This role focus’ on capturing Dr. Turek’s teaching, outlines, and presentations into academically sound and spiritually engaging learning experiences that equip believers to know what they believe, why they believe it, and how to share it with others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Research
- Conduct in-depth biblical, theological, and apologetic research to support new and existing course content.
- Develop the theological and academic framework for each course or study series.
- Ensure all material aligns with biblical orthodoxy and CrossExamined’s apologetic framework.
- Integrate Scripture, commentary, scholarly sources, and relevant cultural analysis into course/product materials.
2. Curriculum Design and Writing
- Write and edit course materials including instructor guides, student & teacher workbooks, quizzes, discussion questions, and assignments.
- Establish learning objectives and design course structures for both live teaching and self-paced formats.
- Adapt and contextualize materials for different audiences and maturity levels.
- Create content that fosters both intellectual understanding and spiritual growth.
3. Presentation, Media, and Creative Collaboration
- Develop PowerPoint slides and visual aids to accompany course videos and live presentations.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Services team in producing course videos, workbooks, and other supporting media.
- Participates in creative planning meetings where event Q&A content are reviewed and adapted for online use, ensuring all copy and messaging remain theologically accurate, contextually relevant, and faithful to CrossExamined’s apologetic standards.
- Create apologetics-based blogs for the CE website; reviews guest blogs to ensure theological accuracy and truthfulness.
4. Quality Review and Continuous Improvement
- Incorporate feedback from instructors, students, and ministry leaders to improve futures courses and materials.
- Stay current with developments in apologetics, theology, and cultural engagement to inform new course and blog topics and updates.
Qualification and Requirements:
- Deep understanding of Christian theology, apologetics, and biblical interpretation.
- Exceptional research, writing, and editorial skills.
- Strong instructional design and curriculum development capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and related tools.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Collaborative and detail-oriented approach with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to evaluate creative content and written copy for theological soundness and contextual relevance.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Christian Theology, Apologetics, Biblical Studies, or a related discipline.
- Experience in theological research, academic writing, and/or curriculum development.
- Familiarity with the works of Dr. Frank Turek and other leading Christian apologists (e.g., Geisler, Craig, Habermas, Meyer).
