Position Summary

The Podcast & Livestream Producer is responsible for overseeing the full technical and logistical production of I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist and other CrossExamined.org programs. This role ensures that each episode and livestream is delivered on time, with professional quality, and in alignment with the ministry’s communication goals. The Producer will coordinate recording sessions, manage production schedules, direct livestream operations, and collaborate with editors and designers for post-production delivery.

This role reports directly to the Executive Director of CrossExamined Ministries and works closely with Dr. Frank Turek, the Event Scheduler/Manager, and the media and marketing teams.


Essential Duties

Podcast and Livestream Production

  • Produce and deliver weekly podcast episodes and monthly livestreams according to the content calendar.
  • Oversee the technical setup, including microphones, lighting, cameras, and sound equipment.
  • Operate or supervise recording, live switching, and multi-camera systems during livestreams.
  • Perform audio mixing, leveling, and synchronization to ensure professional quality.
  • Manage post-production workflows, including file transfer, quality checks, and project archiving.
  • Coordinate with video editors, graphic designers, and post-production contractors to deliver finalized content for multiple platforms (YouTube, Spotify, Rumble, etc.).

Planning and Coordination

  • Coordinate episode recording around Dr. Frank Turek’s calendar and live event schedule, working with the Event Scheduler/Manager to align topics and guest bookings with upcoming appearances and ministry priorities.
  • Coordinate and communicate production timelines, milestones, and deadlines to the broader media and marketing teams.
  • Provide recorded and edited files to editors, designers, and marketers who will handle titles, hooks, thumbnails, and promotional clips.
  • Maintain a detailed production calendar and ensure all deliverables are completed on schedule.

Quality and Performance

  • Ensure professional technical quality for all recordings, livestreams, and post-produced content.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to prevent or minimize interruptions during broadcasts.
  • Monitor performance metrics (downloads, views, engagement) and provide suggestions for improvements and expansion.
  • Implement production improvements based on audience feedback and analytics.

Collaboration and Marketing Support

  • Collaborate with marketing team to ensure content is ready for timely distribution.
  • Provide clean, labeled, and organized content files for downstream promotional work. Also, for the organization’s archive library.
  • Support special events, holiday broadcasts, and video productions as assigned.

Budget and Resource Management

  • Maintain production budgets and manage expenses efficiently, achieving annual cost savings where possible.
  • Secure competitive pricing for equipment, software, and other resources.
  • Maintain and update all recording and broadcasting equipment for Frank.

Professional Development

  • Stay current with podcasting, livestreaming, and digital production trends.
  • Attend at least two relevant training sessions or conferences annually to continue improving production quality and innovation.

Deliverables

  • Weekly podcast episodes and monthly livestreams produced and delivered on time.
  • Professionally edited post-production files for distribution to editors, designers, and marketing teams.
  • Contributions as needed to monthly performance reports submitted by the 10th of each month.
  • Timely support for special ministry events, fundraisers, and campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in audio, video, and livestream production (3–5 years preferred).
  • Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Premiere, Audition, Final Cut Pro, OBS, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of lighting, sound, and multi-camera recording.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to CrossExamined’s mission and values.

Performance Metrics

  • 100% on-time delivery of all scheduled episodes and livestream events.
  • 15% quarterly increase in audience engagement metrics.
  • Monthly reports demonstrating actionable improvement strategies.
  • Effective cost management with annual efficiency gains.

Compensation

Commensurate with experience and scope of work. May include a monthly retainer with deliverable-based incentives.
