Position Overview
CrossExamined is seeking a highly creative digital designer who thrives at the intersection of design, video, and social media.
This role will help shape the visual presence of CrossExamined across:
• YouTube
• Podcasts
• Livestream events
• Social media platforms
• Online Christian Courses
You will design compelling graphics, produce short-form video clips, and collaborate with our creative team to turn thought-provoking conversations into engaging digital content.
This role is ideal for a designer who understands:
• What makes viewers click on YouTube thumbnails
• How visuals drive social media engagement
• How to translate complex ideas into clear, visually engaging content
What You’ll Create
Your work will support content reaching:
• 100,000+ weekly podcast listeners
• Millions of YouTube and social media views each month
• Livestream debates and Q&A events on college campuses
• Online courses used by students worldwide
Every design, thumbnail, and video clip helps people engage with important questions about faith and truth.
Key Responsibilities
YouTube & Video Graphics
Design visual assets for CrossExamined video content, including:
• YouTube thumbnails optimized for click-through performance
• Lower thirds and motion graphics
• Livestream graphics packages
• Visual templates for recurring shows
Work closely with video editors and project managers to ensure visuals enhance storytelling and viewer engagement.
Social Media Content Creation
Create engaging content for:
• YouTube Shorts
• Instagram Reels
• Facebook
• TikTok
• X (Twitter)
This includes:
• Social graphics
• Quote cards
• Short-form video clips
• Motion graphics and animated overlays
You will help transform long-form apologetics content into high-impact social media content.
Educational & Course Content Design
Support the design of materials for CrossExamined’s educational platforms, including:
• Online Christian Courses
• Impact Apologetics resources
Responsibilities include:
• Course graphics and promotional materials
• Workbook layouts and visual learning aids
• Course visual systems (typography, color, style guides)
Campaign & Marketing Design
Create graphics supporting ministry campaigns and events, including:
• Event promotions
• Livestream campaigns
• Email and landing page graphics
• Digital advertising creatives
Brand Excellence
Work with the Senior Manager of Creative Services to maintain and strengthen CrossExamined’s visual identity.
Responsibilities include:
• Maintaining brand consistency
• Developing reusable design templates
• Keeping content visually fresh and culturally relevant
Qualifications
Experience
• 4–7 years of professional design experience in digital media
• Portfolio demonstrating strong digital design and social media work
Technical Skills
Proficiency with:
• Canva
• Adobe Photoshop
• Illustrator
• Premiere Pro
• After Effects or motion graphics tools
Creative Skills
• Strong typography and layout instincts
• Understanding of social media engagement trends
• Ability to translate ideas into visually compelling content
Professional Skills
• Strong time management and project organization
• Ability to collaborate within a remote creative team
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
