Position Summary
We’re looking for mission-minded, detail-oriented Translators and Translation Reviewers to help bring the truth of the Gospel to new language audiences.
This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of both English and their native language, along with a strong grasp of Christian theology and apologetics. As a Translator or Reviewer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring content quality control for articles, videos, subtitles, and more—preserving the clarity, tone, and theological accuracy of the original message.
You’ll collaborate closely with our regional editors, writers, and technical teams to ensure all translated materials are excellent and culturally appropriate for the audience you serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate written and video content (articles, transcripts, subtitles, and social posts) from English into your native language
- Ensure theological integrity, logical clarity, and cultural sensitivity in all translations
- Collaborate with editors and regional leaders to refine language and context
- Provide revisions or corrections based on feedback from internal reviewers
- Follow internal SOPs and meet monthly content production deadlines
- Use provided templates, tools, and guidelines to ensure consistency across platforms
Requirements
- Native fluency in the target language (please specify in your application)
- Strong command of written English
- Solid understanding of Christian theology, apologetics, and worldview
- Ability to maintain tone and logical structure across languages
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Alignment with CrossExamined’s Christian Statement of Faith, mission, and values
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a translation-ready workstation
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
- Previous experience translating apologetics, Christian, or educational content
- Familiarity with subtitle editors or transcription tools (e.g., .srt files, Whisper, Aegisub)
- Experience using WordPress, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, or other content platforms
- Understanding of SEO, keyword translation, and localization best practices
- Background in ministry, missions, or nonprofit translation projects
