Online Christian Courses (OCC)
Remote | Full-Time Employee (requires some evening and weekend work)
Position Overview
Online Christian Courses (OCC) in conjunction with CrossExamined, is looking for a new team member starting immediately! We are seeking an experienced Curriculum Developer and Instructor to design and deliver engaging online courses for High School students.
This role combines:
- Curriculum development (self-paced & premium content)
- Live instructional support via scheduled Zoom sessions
Scope of Work / Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Curriculum Development
- Our first priority is to quickly get quality instruction created for students moving up from our existing Middle School curriculums. For expediency, you would start by using the existing solid foundations of in-house adult or middle school material to either continue in a next-step approach or in presenting a new topic. You would then build age-appropriate courses for in-person and online high school students.
- The Curriculum Developer would:
- Create lesson plans, course outlines, and learning objectives
- Develop instructional materials, including:
- Written content
- Video outlines or scripts
- Assignments, quizzes, and assessments
- Integrate a biblical worldview where appropriate
2. Live Instruction (Zoom-Based)
- Conduct scheduled live Zoom sessions to:
- Teach key concepts
- Facilitate discussion and student engagement
- Answer student questions related to course material
- Sessions may include:
- Lectures
- Q&A
- Guided discussions
- Provide limited feedback on student work as defined in the course scope
3. Assessment & Learning Support
- Create assessments and grading criteria
- Provide answer keys and guidance for evaluation
- Offer general feedback to support student progress within the course framework
4. Course Improvement & Collaboration
- Collaborate with other instructors to develop a cohesive progression of training across age groups
- Refine course content and delivery based on student and teacher reviews, and OCC leadership input
Deliverables
- Complete course curriculum
- Lesson-by-lesson instructional materials
- Assessments and grading tools
- Scheduled live Zoom sessions (as defined per course agreement)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Teaching experience in homeschool, private, public or online settings
- Experience in curriculum development (online preferred)
- Comfortable teaching in live virtual environments (Zoom or similar)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
