Position Overview
This is a hands-on, dual-role position that blends web operations with internal IT support. As a key member of the CrossExamined.org, Inc. Operations Team, this individual will help manage and maintain the organization’s digital presence while ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of its internal technology systems.
On the web side, this role is responsible for the day-to-day execution of webmaster functions, including supporting website performance, updates, and ongoing development efforts across primary and localized content platforms. This includes helping ensure that content is accessible, functional, and aligned with the organization’s global mission.
On the IT side, this role will support, maintain, and help scale the organization’s IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include implementing and managing IT policies, maintaining organizational systems, providing internal technical support, and ensuring system security and reliability.
This position is ideal for someone who can operate both strategically and tactically—someone who takes ownership, solves problems proactively, and supports a growing, mission-driven organization through dependable and scalable technology.
Key Responsibilities
Webmaster Operations
- Support website optimization and performance across all CrossExamined sites.
- Upload, format, and publish content across digital properties.
- Follow established SEO, formatting, and publishing standards.
- Maintain consistent metadata, taxonomy, and internal linking structures.
- Assist in monitoring site health, broken links, and user experience issues.
- Build, maintain, and update websites across all CrossExamined properties.
- Create and manage pages, posts, and site structures.
Information Technology
- Develop, implement, and manage IT policies and infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, and maintain departmental workflows and SOPs.
- Provide staff with virtual and/or on-site troubleshooting, technical support, customer care, training, and product support.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security protocols and backup systems.
- Maintain accurate records, including work logs, service tickets, and inventory management.
- Oversee server management, performance monitoring, and system stability.
- Perform QC and QA checks on content, layouts, and functionality.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Web Development and/or Information Technologies.
- Certifications such as, are considered a plus:
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate.
- CompTIA Security+ / Network+.
- Azure certifications.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS environments.
- Microsoft 365, Azure AD (Entra ID), and endpoint management tools.
- MDM/RMM platforms (e.g., Intune or equivalent).
- Experience with WordPress CMS.
- Familiarity with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar).

- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Team-oriented, with the ability to work independently when needed.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment
- Fully remote with standard business hours.
- Travel flexibility depending on organizational needs.
- May require occasional extended hours to support system updates or project deadlines.
