CrossExamined.org, founded by Dr. Frank Turek, is a trusted Christian apologetics ministry dedicated to presenting evidence that Christianity is true and equipping believers to engage culture confidently. Through podcasts, livestreams, online courses, live events, and digital media, CrossExamined reaches millions each month—defending truth with clarity and courage.
CrossExamined’s Creative Services team produces all video content for CrossExamined and its business units: Online Christian Courses (OCC), Impact Apologetics (IA), CrossExamined Spanish and CrossExamined International.
Role Purpose
The Video Editor transforms long-form video content such as podcasts, livestreams, and event recordings into short, high-impact clips, reels, and shorts for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms, include the CE websites.
This role also creates special project videos such as donor updates, event recap videos, and course promotion pieces for Online Christian Courses and Impact Apologetics.
Working closely with the Senior Manager of Creative Services, Producer, and Social Media Manager, the Video Editor ensures all videos reflect CrossExamined’s brand, tone, and theological integrity while maintaining professional visual and audio standards.
Core Responsibilities
1. Podcast and Livestream Editing
- Edit and assemble weekly podcast and livestream video content, primarily from Dr. Frank Turek’s “I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist” and related programs.
- Extract and edit Q&A clips, highlight moments, and topic-based segments for short-form use.
- Maintain consistent video formatting, audio leveling, and visual quality across all published episodes.
- Ensure videos align with brand standards and communicate clearly across platforms.
2. Short-Form Content Creation
- Produce clips, reels, and shorts optimized for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
- Identify compelling sound bites and visual moments that will engage audiences and drive shares.
- Add text overlays, captions, and motion graphics for visual impact and accessibility.
- Coordinate with the Social Media Manager to deliver edited files on a consistent release schedule.
3. Special Projects
- Create donor videos, event recap reels, and highlight packages for ministry campaigns and reports.
- Edit course-related promotional videos and trailers for Online Christian Courses (OCC), ensuring they clearly communicate course value and tone.
- Support the production of Impact Apologetics (IA) promotional videos and resource showcases.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Creative Services and Digital Projects Manager to bring special video concepts to life through creative editing and storytelling.
4. File Management and Workflow
- Manage incoming raw video footage from the Producer, livestream team, or camera operators.
- Deliver clean, labeled project files and exports ready for use by the Social Media and CE International teams.
- Coordinate with CrossExamined Español and CrossExamined International to provide source files for translation and subtitling when needed.
5. Quality and Brand Alignment
- Ensure all video outputs meet CrossExamined’s visual and audio standards for clarity, accuracy, and engagement.
- Apply consistent branding, fonts, color palettes, and lower thirds across all projects.
- Incorporate feedback from leadership to continuously improve creative quality and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in video editing or digital content production.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar professional editing software.
- Understanding of color correction, audio mixing, and visual composition.
- Experience editing for multiple aspect ratios and platforms (16:9, 9:16, 1:1).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with consistent file management practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative storyteller with an eye for pacing, tone, and emotional impact.
- Familiarity with CrossExamined’s apologetics content or willingness to learn its key themes.
- Commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with CrossExamined’s mission and values.
