Position Summary
The Social Media Manager oversees CrossExamined’s comprehensive social media strategy and execution across all ministry divisions, including CrossExamined.org, Online Christian Courses, and Impact Apologetics. This role ensures cohesive messaging, strategic scheduling, and campaign integration across platforms, while coordinating with multiple teams to advance ministry initiatives.
The Social Media Manager creates and maintains the master content calendar and promotions calendar that integrate course launches, events, donor campaigns, and other organizational initiatives. This position also assists with planning and executing paid social media campaigns and manages the Social Media Coordinator, who handles the daily scheduling and publishing of posts.
This role is key to ensuring CrossExamined’s online presence reflects the excellence, clarity, and boldness of its mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Social Media Strategy
- Develop and implement a unified annual social media strategy aligned with ministry goals.
- Build and manage a comprehensive master content calendar that integrates all ministry promotions, events, and campaigns.
- Create and manage promotions calendars for individual course launches, live events, donor initiatives, and partnerships that feed into the master calendar.
- Coordinate with marketing, video, and design teams to ensure cohesive messaging across all channels and brands.
- Stay current on social media trends, audience behavior, and platform updates to inform ongoing strategy.
2. Content Planning and Oversight
- Oversee creation of social media content that reflects CrossExamined’s brand voice and values.
- Coordinate with editors, video producers, and designers to ensure timely content delivery for all campaigns.
- Manage the Social Media Coordinator, who schedules and posts daily content across platforms.
- Ensure content adheres to brand standards, accuracy, and ministry alignment.
3. Paid Social Media
- Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to plan, budget, and execute paid social media campaigns that promote podcasts, courses, events, and donor initiatives.
- Track performance metrics for paid efforts, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
- Coordinate with producers and video editors to provide necessary files and creative assets.
4. Analytics and Reporting
- Monitor performance across all social platforms and paid campaigns.
- Provide monthly analytics reports highlighting audience growth, engagement trends, and content performance.
- Offer data-driven recommendations to enhance strategy and reach ministry goals.
5. Community and Influencer Engagement
- Oversee strategies to grow CrossExamined’s online community through authentic engagement.
- Support influencer and partnership outreach efforts that align with CrossExamined’s mission.
- Ensure the Social Media Coordinator responds promptly to comments and messages with professionalism and ministry tone.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience managing social media accounts for a brand, organization, or ministry.
- Strong team leadership and project management skills with proven ability to coordinate multiple teams and campaigns.
- Proficiency in analytics, social scheduling tools (e.g., AgoraPulse, Meta Business Suite), and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent writing and communication skills with attention to tone, accuracy, and audience engagement.
- Experience with paid social advertising platforms (Facebook Ads Manager, YouTube Ads, etc.).
- Experience in Christian ministry or apologetics content preferred.
Work Environment
- Remote position requires regular coordination with internal team members across time zones.
